The kingdom of God Mark 4:26-34 Jesus told the parables of the Kingdom of God.  The kingdom of God has a beginning, a middle, and an end. There is a process to attain the Kingdom of God.  It's not just found in going to mass.  We've seen a lot of Sunday and even daily churchgoers who faithfully attend masses, and yet their hearts remain hardened.  They haven't give the Kingdom of God the chance to mature and develop in their lives. The Kingdom of God has a beginning.  There is the merciful heart of the master who wants to plant so that people may have food and eventually, life.  It may also be the seed of the Good News that needs to be planted in our hearts. The Kingdom of God is now in our hearts, molding us and making us fruitful. The second part is nourishing the Kingdom of God.  God works in us as he works in our development.  The one who planted only has to sleep, wake up, and eat.   It is God who works.  Remember, it is G...

The kingdom of God Matthew 13:47-53 We have been reflecting on the Kingdom of God; better yet, the kingship of God. We may have our definitions and concepts about the Kingdom of God, but there is nothing like it when we allow God himself to define His own Kingship.  Our role is simply to discern and adhere to God's kingship over our lives. In the gospel, the fisherman gets all sorts of things in his net.  He collects those that are of use while throws away those that are useless to him.  Likewise, the kingdom is likened to a householder who brings out from his storeroom things both old and new. What is common to these two images is the owner - the fisherman and householder who is in full control of all things they choose. Such is the Kingship of God.  He is in full control over all things including us.  What makes the difference is our uselessness or usefulness to him. What to boast about Matthew 6:19-23 St. Paul, even when he is away, continues to catechize the Christian Community at Corinth.  He exhorts them about boastfulness because of corruption creeping in among the Corinthians. The gospel also enlightens us on what to boast about.  Most often, we boast about what we have - money, power, or even loved ones and their accomplishments.  But Jesus reminds us that moths will eat them up. Do we treat our lives as matters for the moths to eat up?  Search for transcendence in this world.  A parent who foregoes becoming reach in order to teach his/ her child to give more attention to spiritual things is surely building up the Kingdom of Heaven in the very heart of the child.  We are teaching the child the real value of everlasting life and what we should really be doing on earth. The Kingdom of God Matthew 13:31-35 Three components of the kingdom of God are relayed in the gospel: the beginning, the middle, and the end. The beginning is the planting of the seed; the end is the fruitfulness of the plant, while the middle contains the entire process of growth. Our lives are reflections of the kingdom of God and not just in the end when we are about to meet our Creator. The kingdom of God unfolds in our very own lives.  Let us make sure that every seed of the Good News planted in our heart would bear fruit in due time. Secondly, success in the Kingdom of God is not gauged by money, big structures, and accomplishments.  Rather, the ultimate test of fruitfulness lies inside our hearts brought about by our humility and unwavering obedience to God.  The more we accomplish things, the more we should become humble and self-giving.

The kingdom of God may be seen after our lives here on earth; but the kingdom of God resides in each of us right now. Our life stories could be the unfolding of the kingdom of God right here on earth.  If we make sure that our every decision would lead others to life and give glory to God, heaven would be right here on earth.
